Press Release: Catie’s Closet Shatters Fundraiser Goals, Raises $435,000 at 2025 Gala to Support Children in Need

The “A Night to Open Doors” Gala was held at Andover Country Club, on Saturday, March 22, 2025, with 350 attendees.

Funds raised will provide 115,000 children across Massachusetts and New Hampshire with free access to clothing and basic necessities.

1,001 item donations were also collected at the event.

DRACUT, MA—Catie’s Closet is thrilled to announce that its 2025 Gala, “A Night to Open Doors,” raised $435,000, exceeding its goal by $60,000. These critical funds will allow the organization to serve 115,000 children experiencing poverty, homelessness, and other crises throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire, providing free access to clothing and basic necessities. 

On March 22, 2025, over 350 individuals filled the ballroom at Andover Country Club dressed in sparkling and shining attire to celebrate the theme of the event, Sparkle & Shine: Every Child Deserves to Feel Like a Star.

The event kicked off with the goal of raising $375,000. Generous and enthusiastic individuals raised their bidding numbers to donate, bid on auction items, and participated in the legendary basket raffles, helping Catie’s Closet exceed its goal exponentially.

Catie’s Closet also held a special outfit and sneaker collection as part of the event. Generous attendees donated 1,001 items, including shirts, pants, sweatshirts, socks, underwear, and sneakers.

“We are in complete awe over the incredible generosity of our supporters, which will allow us to continue our mission of providing children in need with life-changing access to clothing and basic necessities,” said Mickey Cockrell, CEO and co-founder of Catie’s Closet. “Our ability to serve our current students and expand our services across new cities is contingent on individuals and organizations who wish to help our youth thrive. Thank you to everyone who supported our gala, making it the most successful event in our 15-year history.”

Funds will support the organization’s In-School Closet Program and SOS Urgent Response Program. The In-School Closet Program gives children and teens in 19 New Hampshire schools a free, discreet space to shop for items they need free of charge. Catie’s Closet currently operates closets in Nashua, Hudson, and Manchester. For children experiencing a transition in their stable living environment, the SOS Urgent Response Program provides them with two weeks’ worth of clothing in a customized package designed to meet their immediate and individualized needs. Between the two programs, Catie’s Closet serves over 17,000 New Hampshire children and teens in need.
