Who is PlateletBio?
PlateletBio is a private cell therapy company focused on developing a suite of allogeneic cell therapeutics based on a platform of platelet-like cells (PLCs) for treatment of autoimmune diseases, hematology, fibrosis, and inflammation.
We are located in Watertown, MA and have an amazing, hard-working team of about 50 employees.
Expanding our partnership
In December 2020, we organized our first ever initiative with Catie’s Closet in the form of a Warm Winter Clothing drive.
Our drive included: new warm clothing (jackets, hats, gloves, pants, sweaters, etc), new undergarments, and gently donated clothing and shoes. There was resounding participation from the company for this event, we filled and donated 19 bags of clothing and toiletries!
So, when we learned of the Fill the Bus campaign, we knew this was a great way to continue our relationship with Catie’s Closet.
Education is a major focus of PlateletBio’s outreach efforts and we fully align with Catie’s Closet’s mission of empowering students by providing them resources they need to succeed.
The Fill the Bus event was perfectly timed to coincide with the beginning of the 2021 school year for kids, motivating our employees to participate even more – we wanted the kids to have their backpacks for their first day of school!
Giving confidence to kids in need
This year, we participated in the Fill The Bus campaign by building confidence packs to be donated to Catie’s Closet.
We launched a ‘Fill the Backpacks’ initiative internally, where our company donated school supplies and our employees donated the backpacks.
We held a ‘Fill the Backpack’ event at our office one afternoon, and had a great turnout with many of our team members attending to help fill each of the backpacks.
It was a great, fun opportunity for our team members to get together and give back to our community!
